It is extremely difficult a task to figure out which are the best schools in a particular city. There are so many different parameters, different thought processes, different focus points that predicting a rank 1, 2 3, and so on becomes almost impossible.

When we got started with finding our list of Top school in Bangalore via Survey, we had to make sure that we focused on one particular line of thought and stuck to that. So, we decided to focus on parameters and questions that enable us to get answers on the fact whether a child was ‘enjoying’ school. We fixed our domains as Academic, Co-curricular, Extra curricular and Eco-system and asked questions based on these parameters to parents, students and some teachers as well.

Here is what we found out:

To help you understand what these parameters indicate, here are some basic guidelines on which we built our framework for the Survey.

1) Academics – We not only included to see if students were performing well, but whether they were able to increase their performance over time with their teachers’ help and guidance, and special initiatives that were specially designed to help these kids.

2) Co-curriculars – We focused on the number of such activities undertaken at a school but also the quality of these programs and if these were actually impacting kids positively. 1) Academics – We not only included to see if students were performing well, but whether they were able to increase their performance over time with their teachers’ help and guidance, and special initiatives that were specially designed to help these kids.

3) Extra Curriculars – Similarly, in our survey, we asked about the quality of the extra-curriculars and if people (parents and students) felt these programs had the quality and capability to produce experts and world class champions in various fields.

4) Eco-system – As a parameter, this was the closest to our heart and is about the atmosphere inside the school premises, the classrooms, teacher behaviour, the rigour of classwork/homework, and other such points conducive for learning to happen in an intuitive manner in the most stress-free environment.

P.S. – Your feedback on our work is utmost welcome. We have not done this listing in collaboration with any other organization, nor for any monetary benefit. Our whole purpose is to present information to you in the best possible manner and ensure it is of actual benefit for you and your kids.

Hi Rahul , Last year I too faced the same situation. Being a mother myself, I can relate to your problem. My personal experience is with my kid studying in Greenwood High International School in Bangalore and I am quite impressed with their technique of imparting knowledge to the students. I can easily see the educational development in my child. Greenwood High International school not only focuses on education but an overall child development which a parent wants.

“Hi…Thanks for the blog…it’s very informative. From one year or two I have been searching for good schools. Being a parent…it is so stressful and difficult to find one which not only focuses on academic but also in sports and else activities too. I’m quite happy with greenwood high Bangalore curriculum for students. It takes care of overall child development in terms of academic, sports and extra co-curricular activity.

Greenwood seems to be expensive, heard the cost may come to around Rs 4.50 lakhs p.a. is that correct ? do you think the schooling is worth that expense ?

Your survey is very good. But why did you not include the fees as one of the parameter.
Please don’t tell me fee is not a major concern. yes, it is the one of the major concern.
If there are two schools where school 1 has quality education of say 4 (on a scale of 5) with a fees say 2 lac p.a. and school 2 has a quality education of say 3.5 (on a scale 5) with a fee of 50k. I would go for school 2.

You would have included fee also as a parameter.

Hi – Great blog. Is there way to find out details about admission procedure for all these schools in a simple way? We have to call the schools, check their websites, find out if they have seats, when are they giving out application forms, when does the year begin etc. We are moving to Rajaji Nagar in April this year. My son needs to join 1st standard and my daughter needs to join Prekg. We are trying Brigade school and NPS. Is there any other options in and around rajajinagar, maleshwaram, yashwantpur?
